Can anyone explain to me how an extreme form of Young Earth Creationism became the held belief of a large portion of the evangelical population of middle America?

People are supposed to be well educated in how to read the Bible. They should know a lot about genre and how to interpret what they read. I can only conclude that the churches have done a very poor job of teaching.

People should also be aware of science. Where does the idea come from that faith and science are in conflict? Again, I must conclude that the churches have done a poor job.

Meanwhile, our church old peoples’ group visits the Ark in Kentucky, sponsored by a church that should know better than to endorse such a thing.

I could get angry if I gave myself a chance to.
