I am weeping just now over the shepherd situation.
When Joshua brought the Israelites in the Land, it wasn’t long before the shepherds of the people failed them and sinfulness took over.
When Jesus was in Judea and Galilee, the shepherds of the people were more interested in building their fiefdoms than in leading the people.
And I wonder if it is any better today. It seems to me that most Christian leaders would rather be CEO than shepherd. That leaves the people leaderless.
The leaders want to build a legacy for themselves rather than cooperate with God’s rule.
I don’t know if it is true, but the situation feels quite hopeless to me. Yet I still retain some home that true leadership will arise and set the institution on its ear.
